SHE lived. At least SHE thought SHE did. Then came experiences – some good some bad.
SHE learnt to trust.
SHE learnt not to trust.
SHE learnt that trust could be broken. Especially by those who mattered the most.
SHE learnt to forget.
SHE learnt to forgive.
Tranquility.
SHE learnt that SHE wasn’t perfect.
SHE learnt SHE was in fact the worst.
SHE learnt that SHE was not that bad.
SHE learnt SHE was sometimes even better than others!
Surprise!!
SHE made her own little world, with her morals and values and notions. A resolve to go with it that no one can shake these, not abiding them would be nothing less than sacrilege. SHE thought herself to be an exception. SHE learnt all the above and much much more. SHE yet had to learn the most important thing – SHE was not the exception, SHE was the rule. The rule that once anyone knew it existed gave that anyone the power to fracture it, the rule that like many others before her did not have the tenacity to prove that SHE was the exception. However our SHE learnt this through many things and through many people and through many instances.
SHE learnt this through parents, teachers, friends, lovers and even random people.
Parents dictated what SHE did.
Teachers controlled her thoughts.
Friends ruled her interactions.
Lovers determined her decisions.
Random people verified her actions.
Epiphany!
SHE was not the exception.
SHE was the rule.
